General terms and conditions (GTCs)
I. General provisions
(1) These terms and conditions apply to the purchase of tickets of any kind by final consumers (hereinafter referred to as “visitors”) from Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH in order to enter Laxenburg castle gardens.
(2) Operating entrepreneur and thus contractual party of the visitors is

(3) By purchasing a ticket, the visitor accepts these general terms and conditions.
(4) Deviating agreements are invalid.
(5) The subject of the contract is the fee-based granting of admission to Laxenburg castle gardens (i.e., by presenting access tickets of all kinds). Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH reserves the right to change the offered services at any time.
(6) All offers of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH are binding. The contract is concluded by the visitor sending the order.
(7) The contract as well as information referring to the contents of the contract (customer service, complaints) are only binding in German and decisive with regard to their interpretation.
(8) The prices apply according to the price list of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH in the version valid at the time of the order. All prices include the statutory turnover tax.
(9) The general opening times of Laxenburg castle gardens depend on the hours of sunshine and vary according to the seasons.
The current opening times of Laxenburg castle gardens can be found at all ticket offices or on the homepage of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH www.schloss-laxenburg.at.
(10) Furthermore, Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH reserves the right to a temporal and/or spatial restriction of access to Laxenburg castle gardens, especially in the sense of a situational further restriction of the opening times because of particularly dangerous weather conditions or in the case of events in the park area.
Due to special weather conditions the park area can be closed any time and with immediate effect on behalf of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebsgesellschaft mbH.
(11) When the park area is additionally closed, purchased day tickets will not be refunded. Likewise, there will be no proportional refund of the annual ticket price where temporal and/or spatial restrictions to the right of access to Laxenburg castle gardens is ordered. (12) If special services provided by Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH want to be taken beyond the general right of access to Laxenburg castle gardens (i.e., access by car to events/weddings/concerts or similar), an individual written consent from the management of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH is required.
II. Purchase of tickets at the park ticket offices
(2) With the purchase, the present terms and conditions are accepted in the version valid at the time of the respective acquisition.
(3) The offered ticket categories can be found constantly up-to-date on the homepage of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH or on respective notices displayed at the park ticket offices. Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH reserves the right to make changes.
(4) Annual tickets are only issued in a personalized form. A transfer to other persons is inadmissible and ineffective.
(5) Annual tickets can only be purchased in person at the park ticket offices, upon presentation of a photo ID, passport photos and the respective signed application form of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH.
(6) Upon purchase, the visitor can once choose any issue date for the annual ticket. The annual ticket is valid for one year from its specified date of issue.
(7) An exchange of the annual ticket is only possible before the start of its validity. A proportional refund of the ticket price or the transfer of the annual ticket for a part-time period is excluded.
(8) Furthermore, Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH expressly points out that only if the requested mandatory data fields of the application form are filled out completely, an annual ticket can be issued. The requested personal data are particularly used for a clear personalization of the annual ticket and a subsequent identity verification of the visitor. Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH reserves the right to refuse to issue annual tickets in case of incomplete information by the visitor or to refuse the entry to Laxenburg castle gardens, if the visitor refuses to show a valid official photo ID for identification purposes.
(9) Visitors with annual tickets expressly agree to the automated saving and processing of their data for the purpose of issuing the tickets and for the verification of the visitor’s right to enter Laxenburg castle gardens.
(10) In case of incorrect information, the visitor is liable to Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH for the resulting damage.
III. Online purchase
(1) Tickets granting access to the area of Laxenburg castle gardens can also be purchased online on the homepage of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH at www.schloss-laxenburg.at. Excluded is the purchase of annual tickets, which is only possible in person at the park ticket offices.
(2) In the course of the online payment process the visitor is forwarded to a payment platform. The payment completes the online ordering process and the visitor receives a confirmation by email. With the online order the present terms and conditions are accepted in their version valid at the time of the respective acquisition.
(3) Tickets purchased online, which are valid for a specific date or have already been redeemed, cannot be exchanged and are excluded from a refund.
(4) Online orders are processed as follows:
When the order is received, the selected ticket is electronically generated and with a corresponding invoice document sent to the email address of the visitor given during the order process. The ticket authorizes one-time admission to Laxenburg castle gardens at any determined date and expires at the end of the selected day.
(5) In the event of cancellation, the electronically generated ticket is blocked after receiving the declaration of revocation and any purchase price already paid by the visitor is refunded within two working days.
(6) Customers, who are consumers in the sense of the Austrian Consumer Protection Act, may withdraw from contracts of services without giving reasons within 14 calendar days in accordance with the Austrian Act on Distance Businesses. Excluded from the right of withdrawal are contracts where the provision of services has already begun, and contracts for services provided in connection with leisure activities, if a specific time or period is agreed for the performance of the contract. When purchasing day and half-day tickets, there is therefore no right of withdrawal, if they apply for a specific date or have already started to provide services.
IV. Group bookings and special services
(1) Group tickets and special services can only be booked on request, by phone (Tel: +43 2236 71226) or by email (office@schloss-laxenburg.at).
(2) After the reservation a written confirmation is sent to the visitor via email by Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH.
Special services beyond the general right of access to the park area asked of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH by visitors require an individual written agreement with the management of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH.
(3) More detailed terms and conditions regarding payment and the cancellation of reservations can be found in the respective confirmation email or the corresponding written agreement. Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH expressly reserves the right to make changes in this regard on an ongoing basis.
(4) Only written information on group bookings and special services has a legally binding effect for Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH. Any oral deviating agreements are invalid.
V. Museum / Guided tours
Tickets for admission and guided tours for the Franzensburg located in Laxenburg castle gardens are offered on site. Any conditions apply that are displayed there and, alternatively, the GTCs referred to in point II above.
VI. Ferry
- The ferry in Laxenburg castle gardens is a licensed shipping company. Operator of the ferry is Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH. On board the ferry, however, the instructions of the ferryman have priority over the GTCs of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH.
- On board the ferry, it is necessary to always follow the instructions of the ferryman. In case of failure to follow the ferryman’s instructions or to comply with the general rules of conduct for the use of the ferry displayed within the area of the ferry, the ferryman is entitled to refuse to transport the respective visitor or to expel the respective visitor from the ferry.
Furthermore, in the event of non-compliance the enforcement of claims for damages of any kind against Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH is expressly excluded. The infringing visitor is also liable to third parties for any damage occurred.
- To use the ferry, a chargeable ticket can be directly purchased on board from the ferryman.
VII. Boat hire
- It is expressly pointed out that the boat hire in Laxenburg castle gardens is operated by a lessee in his own name, for his own account and at his own risk and is thus not attributable to the contractual relationship of the visitor with Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH.
- Announced as operator of the boat hire is:

A contractual relationship of the visitor when hiring a boat in Laxenburg castle gardens is therefore exclusively concluded with the operator of the boat hire.
A liability of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH towards visitors in connection with the use of the boat hire in Laxenburg castle gardens is excluded.
VIII. Final provicions and data protection
(1) The controller of data processing is Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH, Johannesplatz 2/4/1, A-2361 Laxenburg. The personal data will be processed and used exclusively in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR and the Data Protection Act.

(2) Should any clauses of these terms and conditions be or become ineffective, the effectiveness of the other provisions remains unaffected.
(3) This agreement is subject to Austrian law. This shall also apply to deliveries and services provided abroad, unless the mandatory provisions of the consumer protection of another country, where the respective consumer has his/her habitual residence, conflict with this. The application of the UN Sales Convention and the rules of the conflict of laws, referring to other legal systems, is expressly excluded.
(4) If the visitor is not a consumer as defined in § 1, Subsection 1 Z 2 KSchG (the Austrian Consumer Protection Act), the place of jurisdiction for all disputes shall be the court factually and locally responsible for Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH and the place of performance shall be Laxenburg.
(5) These general terms and conditions of Schloss Laxenburg Betriebs GmbH shall come into force on 5 October 2022.
